Another morning. Another chance to embrace the day. This day.
No holding back. No judging or comparing to yesterday or any and all other days before this one allowed. Each of us is in “blank slate” mode as we exit our pillows and rise to greet whatever brought us into awakeness. Some of us enter it more gracefully and gently than others. Whether we launch from under the covers at a snail’s pace or get thrust into instantaneous OMG mode once seeing what time it is, we have a choice in what color we make that moment.
Even when it looks like a moment we’ve been in before, or the time or routine of that moment gets us responding by rote instead of channeling a new path and creating a new thought about the space we’re in, and how we feel about that space and whoever else might be sharing it with us.
Let’s all dare to go “new” instead of “old”. Gift ourselves the freshness of a moment we haven’t yet lived. Respect that we are chosen – not only for this moment but all other moments following it. The Great Someone has willed us to be here. There were many others yesterday who are not among today’s chosen. We now have more to do and more to be. Let’s embrace that challenge and become greater than where or who we’ve been.
Whether or not it’s a conscious thought, we own each of our moments and how we respond within them. It’s easy to sink into “same ____, different day” thinking patterns. ANYONE can do that. But WE are the chosen.
If we remember that, our moments take on a preciousness and meaning to move us out of old patterns of behavior and thought into the newness and positivity of all we can be. Paying it forward in that way can make all the difference to ourselves and others in each moment that we occupy. We each can make being chosen count.
It’s a choice – just like us still being here.
