Go, Irving!

Just want to give a shout out to Irving, Texas this morning. So proud of that community coming together and, in spite of everything Texas usually stands for in the media, showing the love for a non-Christian religion and its followers – the decidedly Christian thing to do.

They proved to all that it’s the walk and not the talk that makes a Christian a true Christian, and those who showed up for the gathering were of all types and backgrounds. Dunno how many of them were of the Christian faith, but I do know they were all walking in line with its beliefs.

I’ve lived here for a little over two years now. Moved here from California. Never thought I’d hear the state of Texas in the news for something worthy and positive, and then the good happens – and for the most unlikely of causes. Another religion. One with the most volatile of reputations and followings on the planet. Yet there were those souls in Irving giving love and support for the Islamic church located there.

Not really a Texan but for the first time since I’ve been here, I don’t mind now saying I’m from here.

Thanks, Irving! And High five!!
