My final piece of photo rant of eight years ago featured a poster in support of Obama. God bless him for even having wanted the job!
So here we are once again facing a choice that is risking all the marbles for our and our country’s well being for the next four years.
A big “whew!”, on the one hand that we have moved up the road from the last Republican administration with Obama leading us out of the abyss he inherited. On the other hand, we are collectively still suffering from the GOP’s governance, dominance and oppression of both houses of Congress and the vast majority of constituents they were elected to serve. And why bother imagining what could have been accomplished had the GOP respected its elected mission instead of its own self-centered, super-PAC funded agendas? Or if it had served in cooperation or at least facilitation of the country and its citizens’ best interests?
Need I rehash what we all know to be the Elephant in the Room and the unavoidable consequence of its unchecked presence there? Forget about the current cleanup needed. What about the roster of its candidates offering themselves to further “fix” our economy and retro fit this country to a 1950’s mindset and agenda?
Don’t think so!!
Bernie and Hillary may not appeal to right wing sensibilities, but I say it’s time to vote for someone who truly represents ALL the people. Those who have trouble with labels like “socialist” yet embrace Christianity need to better apply their Biblical teachings. Jesus came after the Old Testament for a reason – to give way to showing love and acceptance for all of God’s children, regardless of their leanings and religious practices.
The only time he lost his temper was with the money lenders! I’m thinkin’ there’s more than a few Republican Christians overlooking that reminder of how God views greed at the expense of His multitudes – ALL His multitudes, not just those we deign to approve of.
I bring religion into this post for only one reason – to call out those who make it an excuse to be exclusionary and self-entitled at the expense of others. Get over it!
Remember, God is watching. And – just a guess – I’m betting He’s not a Republican!
Speaking of God, how about for this election, we think like Him and respect and serve each other? That way we don’t have to go the next four years praying for – or causing – Divine intervention? Kind of a backasswards way to move a country forward otherwise, don’t you think?
